Move Over Antibiotics: This is the Healthy Immune Booster You Need

See ya never, antibiotics, natural immune boosters are where it's at.

As the natural health world continues to gain popularity, people are waking up to the negative effects that prescription drugs and over the counter medications can have on their health in the long term. As someone who has only taken antibiotics twice in her whole life, I can say with confidence that natural alternatives are totally do-able, better for your health, and can be very effective. But they continue to be the most over-prescribed drug on the market, and it could be creating a really big problem.

Here's why: overuse of antibiotics breeds “superbugs”—bacteria that can’t be controlled or eradicated with any drugs we have on the market.

Experts say that this problem is getting worse as time goes on, and it's getting bad fast. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have warned that one particular bug, nicknamed 'CRE' - when it gets into the bloodstream— kills "almost 50 percent of hospital patients who are infected". This threat is not one to stand by and watch idly, since both the World Health Organization and the European Union have called this increasing problem of drug-resistant bacteria one of the world’s "most serious health crises". If you look at the statistics, antibiotics are one of the most commonly prescribed drugs in the world - and are a huge source of income for medical establishments. Because antibiotics destroy our natural immunity, and leave us at risk for other health issues to take root, they create enormous profits, but at what cost?

From a health and wellness standpoint, antibiotics are unappealing since they kill the healthy bacteria in our gut. Our gut bacteria, while a mildly uninteresting topic, are actually some of the most beneficial and important bacteria for our health, since they can protect us from many health issues. But when we completely destroy our natural gut flora from antibiotics, numerous imbalances can appear - the most common of which is candida overgrowth, which can be a stepping stone for other, more serious health issues.

In fact, candida overgrowth has been linked to headaches, acne, eczema, PMS, athlete's foot, allergies, depression, chronic fatigue, vision problems, sinus problems, ear problems, rashes, hormonal imbalances, yeast infections, migraines, mood swings, irritable bowel symptom, constipation, poor memory, chronic pain, acid reflux and more. It seems to me that protecting our natural gut flora is imperative, and choosing to opt-out of over-using antibiotics might be a good idea.

The good news is that there are so many natural antibacterial foods and supplements on the market today. With the rise of the health and wellness movement, there are many natural alternatives appearing that can boost immunity and help your body fight against the bugs without wiping out your healthy gut bacteria. Sounds like a win, right?

The EZC Active Pak is one of the newest anti-antibiotic immune boosting supplements on the market. They are an award-winning physician-formulated immune support pack designed to "support healthy immune system function of individuals with active on-the-go lifestyles". The Active Immune Support Pak is a super convenient packet to slip in a purse or suitcase for travel, and is great to have around at times of peak stress, or lack of sleep when immune system function is often at its weakest and needs a natural boost.

EZC Pak’s founder is a California Physician. Admirably, they are a very mission driven company: Immune Support focused on reducing antibiotic overuse. By actively supporting community clinic antibiotic stewardship initiatives worldwide, they seek to spread awareness about the superbug problem.

"Without changes to antibiotic use, superbug infections are expected to kill more people than cancer by 2050"

If this isn't alarming, I don't know what is. Because I am such a strong advocate of taking your own wellbeing into your hands and seeking out alternatives, I was eager to try out EZC Pak for myself, since their simple, ready-to-grab packets are a great addition to any wellness regimen. In collaboration with Palm and EZC Pak, I've been trying them out for the winter season. I've been taking my packets with me on-the-go for when I feel like immune system needs a strong kick.

What I love most about these are the INGREDIENTS. If you've followed my blog or instagram for any period of time, you will know that I am obsessed with ingredients, because there can be so much hidden in there that we don't know about. These ingredients are straight to the point and simple: organic echinacea, zinc, and Vitamin C. All clean, natural and simple ingredients that are naturally immune boosting and effective.

My favorite ways to boost my immune system are with natural methods like essential oils, ginger and lemon tea, raw garlic, oregano essential oil capsules, extra sleep, and immune-boosting tea. I'm excited to have another immune-booster on hand for when I am on-the-go, and to have on-hand for those off-days. These Active Immune Support packs are easy to grab via Amazon or directly from their website, EZCPak.com.

Be sure to share the benefits of natural immune support and the dangers of antibiotic overuse with those you care about, it is something I strongly believe needs our attention. Give your body a chance to build its own immune system, and support it naturally whenever you can. Your future self with thank you!

Stay healthy & well!

With love,

Sera xx
