JORD Wooden Watches: Sustainability Meets Beauty (+ A GIVEAWAY!)

*There's an exciting Giveaway at the end of this post, read to the end to enter to win!*

If there's one thing I love about the changing weather in the fall, it's the feeling of turning inwards, reflecting on the year thus far and how I want to approach the final months. Whenever fall comes around, I find myself going through a life-edit, cleaning out things that no longer serve me, such as donating old books, filing papers, organizing my workspace, and cleaning out old clothes. This year, as I went through all of my belongings, I realized that my passion for quality and sustainability in my wellness routine needed to be reflected in my wardrobe and accessories, something I hadn't thought much about until this year.

I would argue that we have the power to vote with our dollars, and that every dollar we spend should be a conscious choice towards supporting causes and businesses we believe in. This notion should extend to all the companies we put our money towards, whether that be clothing, beauty, or accessories.

When JORD Watches contacted me this fall, I was in the middle of my annual life-edit, cleaning out the old to bring in the new. As with every brand collaboration I receive, I took the time to look into their philosophy, their process, their materials and their mission. I was so pleasantly surprised to see that they, too, stood for sustainability and quality in their products, and yet offered beauty and simplicity, two things that I always look for in my accessories and wardrobe.

JORD, which means "earth" in Danish, drew my attention with their brand philosophy:

"We value sustainability, efficiency, and experiential living. We make our watches for people who don't just have somewhere to be, they have somewhere to go."

I'll admit that I haven't worn a watch religiously in years, because I began feeling uncomfortable with the timepiece on my skin. I felt like the battery was irritating me, and I always wanted to take it off - so I stopped wearing it a few years ago. So when I accepted to work with JORD, I was unsure how I would react to the timepiece since it is made mostly of wood, but I loved their philosophy and was so willing to try something new.

What I find most fascinating about these watches is that each one is made of a single type of wood. Using their website navigation, you can choose the wood type that you are shopping for, and see the origin of the tree, the weight and grain of the wood, and other specific details.

I chose the 'Cassia' in Walnut & Vintage Rose, and you can really see the gorgeous grain and color of the walnut wood in the photos.

I also love how simple and elegant the vintage rose-gold color is, it adds femininity in a very subtle and elegant way.

I will definitely be wearing this watch as an accessory all fall and winter.

I love that these watches tell a story and are made with such craftsmanship and careful sourcing. Sustainable sourcing of natural resources is so important, and I love that these watches highlight this.

Obviously, the most unique aspect of these watches is that they are made from wood, however another interesting thing to note is that the surface is made from sapphire glass, which is a synthetic crystal and nearly impossible to scratch.

I'm grateful to JORD for partnering with me this fall, and as a special thank you to my blog readers and Instagram community, I am hosting a 100$ GIVEAWAY with JORD for the watch of your choice.
