How to Get Started with Essential Oils

Updated: Mar 4, 2019

If you know me, you know I love my essential oils, and talking about them and sharing them with everyone I know. So today, I want to answer one of the main questions I get asked: Where do I start?

Essential oils have been a part of my daily routine for as long as I can remember. If you follow me on Instagram, you will see me share my diffuser blends, homemade face oil recipes, talk about my favorites for emotions, sleep, and so much more. I share all of this information because I want you to benefit from oils too, and because I believe that every person in the world would be better off with Young Living oils in their hands. I have seen incredible changes in people's lives from adding in the right oils, and I want that for you too.

In order to get all of these benefits, you have to start somewhere, right? Let's walk through the simplest, easiest, and most effective way to get started.

The Young Living Premium Starter Kit - $165

The Young Living starter kit, or better known as the PSK, is the absolute best option for the total newbie to essential oils and the essential oil aficionado alike. Whether you're ready to jump in head-first or just dip your toe into the water and see what is there, this kit will give you everything you need to start out confidently.

So what comes in the kit? Let's check it out below:

Benefits:

12 gorgeous essential oils

Diffuser of your choice: the Desert Mist and Dewdrop diffusers come INCLUDED & are made of medical grade plastic (first 2 from the left, pictured below). You can upgrade for the other diffusers.

24% off retail prices with the Membership (NO fees or minimums or gimmicks)

Access to a private community on Facebook, Google Drive folder & graphics!

But what if I don't know anything about oils?

No problem! Most people that grab their kit don't know a thing about them, and that is awesome! The starter kit is designed to be easy to use, and straightforward. Like I mentioned above, when you get your PSK, you will be added to my community on Facebook, where members of our team can ask questions, give advice and learn about new oils, all of which are priceless. There are so many resources that will be made available to you, including a starter guide, DIY recipes, tips and tricks, email support, and more.

I will personally reach out to you via email once you grab your kit with some information on our team, a PDF guide, and some access links for you to keep. I also ship you a little welcome packet in the mail, because I love sending snail mail!

How to Grab Your Kit

I would love you to grab your kit and come do oils with us! Here is a simple step by step process of how to grab your kit and get started on the right foot.

Head to bit.ly/FlowerPowrCollective and you will see a page that looks like this:

From this page, clicking 'continue' will take you to pick out your starter kit- the best part!

With the Premium Starter Kit, the Desert Mist is included in the base price of $160, and I always recommend this one because it is beautiful and can run for 8-10 hours, making it perfect for the bedroom while you sleep, as well as all-day diffusing. The Aria and Rainstone are also amazing options, these are both stunning diffusers that you can only get for this price once - so if you have a little room in your budget, take advantage of this!

Next Steps

Since you have the wholesale membership now, you have the ability to share about oils with your friends using your new member number! Of course, you are definitely not ever required to, but I always encourage you to talk about oils around your friends, you never know who might be looking for something new for their wellness regimen, or maybe they are ready to get started. All you will do is use the directions above and have them input your member ID for the sponsor and Enroller fields! I will teach you how to make your own custom link if you want to share on your blog or Instagram too.

Once you fall in love with your starter kit and want more oils, skincare, makeup - ALL THE THINGS, you can sign up for Young Living's monthly subscription box, known as Essential Rewards (ER). This is basically just like Amazon Prime for all things plant-based, nontoxic lifestyle goodness. If you are going to continue to use oils from Young Living, Essential Rewards is basically a no-brainer. I have been on ER for 3 years now, and LOVE this option. I have been saving up my reward points and I use them to stock up on my favorite oils for FREE 😍

For ER, you are required to place a 50PV order (for most items 1PV=$1) each month, and you can cancel at any time! Keep in mind that Young Living also has other non-oily things like makeup, skincare products, supplements, food items, natural energy drinks, protein powder, etc. so for me, transferring my monthly Target/Whole Foods budget to my monthly Young Living order is how I make this work easily. In my monthly order I always grab my toothpaste, body wash, vitamins, lotion, shampoos, conditioners, essential oils obviously, and so much more. I usually share my ER order in our Facebook group so that you can see what I get and maybe find new ideas!

Perks of the ER program:

10% store-credit back during months 1-3, 20% back months 4-24, & 25% back after that!

FREE oils each month that are exclusive to ER members

Gifts from Young Living at 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, & one year

YL GO, a quick shipping service for one annual fee (like Amazon Prime)
